The fashion world has always reflected the beauty ideals of dominant culture, which until recently, has left the Black figure conspicuously in the margins of our art historical image bank.
We follow Mighty on her own surreal journey to meet personal fashion idol, Moonbeam, at a year-end Gala. Mighty’s adventure illuminates the fashion world’s long arc toward achieving the very empowerment it says it seeks.
